EDUCATIONAL RESIDENTIAL TRIPS
The team that bring you Day Trips, also organise a residential trip of between 3 to 5 days duration, by coach probably once per year., most likely to be in August or September.
For this September 2026 we have organised a longer trip of 4 days (3 nights) , which previous trippers suggested, to be based in Llandudno.
In September 2025 we enjoyed a 3 day trip (2 night) to Yorkshire. On the first day we visited Helmsley, a picturesque market town, wandering the charming streets, or visiting the castle. Day 2 was on the North York Moors railway, travelling from Pickering to Whitby, with time to explore the Whitby Abbey, stroll along the beach and enjoy fresh seafood. On day 3 the morning was spent exploring the city of York, with its’ magnificent cathedral, and leaving early afternoon for the journey home.
In August 2024 we enjoyed a 3 day (2 night) trip, based in Swindon, which started with a visit to Windsor Castle on the first day, the second day explored Bristol, visiting the dockyards, followed by a cruise on the River Wye on the final day.
Before the pandemic we had trips to:
Kingston upon Hull, Cardiff, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Portsmouth/Southsea.
There are also Day Visits either arranged by Group Leaders (places may sometimes be available to other interested members) or open to all members. Previous destinations have included:
Police Museum, Cosford Aircraft Museum, Whistle Factory, Black Country Museum, National Memorial Arboretum, Severn Valley Railway, Coffin Works, Canal Barge Trip and Bletchley Park. We have also visited some National Trust properties :- Birmingham Back-to-Backs, Hanbury Hall, Wightwick Manor and Coughton Court.
