Classes of Membership
Visitor:
This is to see whether you like us, just £5 to try three Speaker meetings, Group meetings or Trips.
Individual:
This is our full membership class, Our year runs from January to December.
You can come to as many General meetings, Groups meetings as you like, just £47 for a whole year if you join in January, reducing pro-rata monthly if you join during the year.
What else might I have to pay for?
Our flourishing monthly Day Trips and annual Educational Visit (often 3 days residential) are self financing, so you may need to pay where admission or guided tour fees are payable, and if bus, train or coaches are involved, but you will know what the cost will be when you sign up for these. These are for our Members only.

Members Subscription
The first meeting in January is when members renew their memberships and pay their subscriptions.
Our new members Individual subscription for the Full Year 2026 remains at £47 if you join in January, but this reduces each month during the year.
Once you have joined and paid your subscription, there is no limit to the number of Interest Groups to which you can belong.
We do NOT charge you anything for attending Speaker Meetings or Interest Group meetings!

You work it out, it's remarkably good value if you attend just a few of our Groups!
However, should there be any additional costs your Group Leader or Trip Organiser will tell you. If you go on trips, costs will be made clear to you, as travel and entrance fees have to be covered, and a deposit may be charged to secure your place.
Some Group meetings have a tea/coffee break, and you can donate a suggested small amount towards consumables!
If you wish to find out about our Interest Groups, a member of the Committee will try to introduce you to the group leader but if that is not possible you will be given contact details so that you can introduce yourself.
Can I join during the year?
Of course you can! Subscriptions for new members are on a sliding scale, depending on the month you join.
If you have already paid a £5 Visitor Fee, this will deducted!
Not sure yet?
Remember that you can attend three sessions before deciding whether you would like to fully join, and the Visitor's charge for these first three taster meetings is only £5. What's not to like!
It is preferable, that your first visit is to a Speaker Meeting. where you can talk to the Membership Team
The second and third visits can be to any combination of Speaker Meetings/ Interest Group meetings.
